Jiangsu and Chongqing hosted economic and social development seminar and the ceremony for signing of the economic and commercial cooperation program. 　　Liang Baohua and Luo Zhijun welcomed Chongqing Party and Governmental Delegation warmly on behalf of the Provincial Committee and Provincial Government, and introduced the social and economic development status quo of Jiangsu. Liang Bao Hua said, the great achievement of Chongqing Municipality inspired us greatly, and its precious experience of reform and development is worth studying. Chongqing plays a strategic role in the development of the whole country as the economic center of the Changjiang River Headwater areas and the central city of the Southwest area. Jiangsu and Chongqing have a long history of close exchange. Currently, the exchange between the two areas ushers into a new phase, and it is the common wish of the two areas to deepens the cooperation. We will further strengthen the cooperation between Jiangsu and Chongqing in the fields of industries, science technology, tourism and transportation in accordance with the principle of drawing on each other’s comparative advantages, making mutual benefit, maintaining a long-term cooperative relationship and having joint development. We will encourage Jiangsu enterprises to invest in Chongqing, and welcome Chongqing enterprises to have cooperation with Jiangsu ones in accordance with the principle“seeking the ownership rather than the location,”and“seeking gains rather than the ownership.”We hope the two areas will support each other and make progress together with the common aim of constructing a moderately prosperous society. We will both make good use of the resource of the Changjiang River and promote the harmoniously development of the Changjiang River area, making greater contribution to the national development.
