On August 12, Party Secretary Li Yuanchao surveyed the follow-up implementation of Taihu Lake Treatment Conference outcome and researched on the further regulation of rivers flowing into Taihu Lake in Wujin and Yixing. Li emphasized those rivers flowing into the Taihu Lake should be the very source of the regulation. To achieve scientific development, the policy of prioritizing environmental protection should be effectively implemented with greater effort and the regional environment compensation mechanism should be put in place.
