According to the regulation stipulated in “Law of Administrative Supervision of People’s Republic of China”, the Provincial Supervision Department conducts supervision on each department of provincial government and its civil servants, other personnel appointed by provincial government and its department and each municipal government and their leaders. Provincial Supervision Department can supervise the cases which are under the jurisdiction of the supervision organs of each municipal government. If necessary, it can also supervise the cases which are under the jurisdiction of the subordinate supervision organs.

(1) To supervise the problems of each department of provincial government and municipal government in observing and implementing disciplines, regulations, resolutions and orders;

(2) To accept the accusation of any conduct violating administrative disciplines by national administrative organs, national civil servants and other personnel appointed by national administrative organs;

(3) To investigate and handle the conducts violating administrative disciplines by national administrative organs, national civil servants and other personnel appointed by national administrative organs;

(4) To accept the appeal of national civil servants and other personnel appointed by national administrative organs against the decision of administrative sanction and other appeals which should be handled by supervision organs according to the laws and administrative regulations;

(5) Other responsibilities regulated by laws and administrative regulations;

(6) Other tasks authorized by the provincial government

b. Name of the leader: Xie Xiulan, Director General 

c. Profile of the leader

Madame Xie Xiulan, Han nationality, was born in November 1951 in Baoying, Jiangsu Province. She gained master’s degree. She joined the Communist Party of China in October 1970 and started her first job in December 1970. She once worked as the teacher of Jianninglu Primary School of Xiaguan District of Nanjing, member of the standing committee of Xiaguan District CPC Committee, Deputy Youth League Secretary of Nanjing, Vice Chairman and Chairman of Nanjing Youth Federation. In May 1986, she took the post of Deputy Chief of Qin’hua District Government; In May 1987, she was promoted to be member of the standing committee of Qin’hua District CPC Committee and Secretary of Qin’hua District Disciplinary Inspection Committee；In December 1990, she held the post as member of the standing committee of Nanjing Disciplinary Inspection Committee and as Deputy Secretary of Nanjing Disciplinary Committee in October 1993; In November 1994, she was appointed as member of the standing committee of Jiangsu Provincial Disciplinary Inspection Committee and in March 1995, held the posts as member of the standing committee of Jiangsu Provincial Disciplinary Inspection Committee and Deputy Director General of Department of Supervision of Jiangsu Province; In April 2000, she took the position as Deputy Secretary of Jiangsu Disciplinary Inspection Committee and in June 2001 Director General of Department of Supervision of Jiangsu Province
